Born in Brasília, Brasil, Maurício de Souza is a Brazilian jazz drummer, composer and band leader. His group, Bozza Brasil®, performs a wealth of Brazilian jazz standards ranging from Bossa Novas to Sambas and Baiãos. The repertoire features classics by Tom Jobim, Milton Nascimento and Marcos Valle among many others. The music is energetic and upbeat, yet soothing and ethereal. In addition to performing at First Night® Morris County, Bozza Brasil® has performed at Blue Note in New York City, Festival de Jazz de Québec in Canada, NJPAC and countless venues and festivals in New Jersey and New York.
